Features of SMD Power Inductors

In passive components; resistance sense capacitance where the "sense" refers to the inductance; and inductors are generally composed of a skeleton, windings, shielding, encapsulation materials, magnetic core or core, and so on.



Characterization of the materials that make up the inductor:

(1)skeletons

The skeleton in inductors refers to the bracket on which the coils are wound. General inductors can be divided into fixed inductors or adjustable inductors, chip power inductors belong to the fixed inductors; inductors are generally enameled wire flat wound on the skeleton, and then the magnetic core or copper core, iron core, etc. into the skeleton of the inner cavity, in order to improve its inductance; and chip power inductors of the core and the skeleton is perfectly combined together; to play the role of the bracket at the same time; can improve its inductance; the skeleton is made of magnetic materials, sintered, according to different packaging methods can be made into shapes. The skeleton is made of magnetic material, and can be made into different shapes according to different encapsulation methods.

(2)winding

Winding refers to a circle of coils with a certain power, which is the main part of the composition of the inductor; winding according to the different types of inductors need to have a single layer and multi-layer windings.

(3)Magnetic Cores and Magnetic Bars

Magnetic core and magnetic bar generally use nickel-zinc ferrite or manganese-zinc ferrite and other materials, it has "I" shape, column, cap, "E" shape, can shape and other shapes. Chip power inductors have a perfect combination of magnetic core and skeleton, which saves cost and reduces the process, greatly improving the production capacity.

(4)Shield

Shield is also called magnetic shield; in order to avoid some inductors in the work of the magnetic field generated by the impact of other circuits and components work properly, while increasing the magnetic saturation; so that the inductance performance is greatly improved.
